About

Welcome to Duncan's Dogs,

My name is Craig Duncan. Through my love of dogs , I have for some time now been working on a voluntary basis for two dog charities – Pet Fostering Service Scotland and The Cinnamon Trust – both of which offer fostering services for dogs in temporary need , often due to the owners illness or other emergency. During this time I have provided a caring , safe and loving home to these dogs, which has been good for them and their owners, as well as myself.

I have been lucky that two of the dogs ended up with me for over four months and I still see them regularly, which is brilliant and they think I am their “Uncle Craig” !

Increasingly , I have been asked by a number of owners if I would be willing to provide similar services on a more regular basis to cover holiday periods, work, family events, etc and I am now pleased to offer my dog walking / sitting / caring services on a commercial basis.

My philosophy is to try and treat your dog(s) and only your dog(s) as if they were part of my own household, which means small numbers with lots of time and care lavished on them, I aim for quality not quantity. I sincerely enjoy their company and I want to offer a bespoke service at a reasonable price.

Whether you require dog walking on a regular basis, or as a one off, an overnight stay or for a number of nights, or other services, your dog will be safe and well cared for in a homely domestic environment to your requirements.

My business is fully insured and I have full Disclosure Scotland clearance.

Whatever works for your dog, Duncan's Dogs can work it out.

Services

Bespoke packages are available following an informal discussion and will always be based upon quality of service , rather than quantity.
I offer one to one attention but will consider additional dogs from the same household or carefully matched dogs with the owners express consent, accordingly my prices are based on my attending exclusively to one dog at a time but discounts may be arranged for qualifying additional dogs, as well as long term / regular bookings.

Terms and Conditions

Duncan's Dogs believe in quality not quantity and we aim to deliver a bespoke service agreed with the owner in the best interests of your dog(s), consistent with their health, safety and well being and that of other animals and the general public. With this in mind, it is imperative that owners make full disclosure of any and all issues which may have an adverse bearing on our ability to deliver these aims.
The following are not exhaustive and are intended as an informative guide, failure to fully disclose all material matters will release Duncan's Dogs from responsibility and if in doubt as to what matters may be pertinent, owners should always consult Duncan's Dogs before contracting any service.
In short, we thrive on mutual trust and in that spirit, seek to provide a homely, safe and happy experience for your dog(s).
It is a legal requirement that all dogs must wear a collar with name , address and owners postcode , irrespective of being micro chipped or not, owners should also be aware that “chipping” will be a compulsory legal requiremnt as from 6April 2016.
Duncan's Dogs MUST be informed of any and all behavioural and personality characteristics of each dog, particularly Health issues, aggression, undue timidity or any other issues which may pose a handling / caring problem; including full disclosure of any past problematic incidents, these may include, fighting, running away, failure to recall etc.
We must be informed of Incontinence or lack of house training and whether or not an adult male dog is neutered or not , and if a bitch is in season. Affirmative answers to these questions does not preclude the possibility of working with your dog(s) but does enable any services agreed upon to be provided in such a way as to be good for your dog(s) and others. Generally speaking, unneutered dogs will only be accepted on a solitary basis , as will a bitch in season and only on the lead, in such times and circumstances as we deem appropriate. This is likely to incur a higher than usual charge.
Owners must provide Duncan's Dogs with a full disclosure of any substantive health history and with the full contact details of the usual and/or preferred veterinary practice , including emergency out of hours numbers. It is a strict requirement that owners ensure that their dog(s) are wholly up to date in terms of flea/tick treatment, worming and other relevant vaccinations. Owners undertake to fully reimburse Duncan's Dogs in respect of any and all veterinary expenses, howsoever incurred.
Owners must ensure that dog(s) come with all necessary Food, Medication, Equipment appropriate to the service contracted and Duncan's Dogs will not be held liable for any defects or faults pertaining to anything provided by the owner. Should it become necessary to purchase extra food (e.g. as a result of a longer than intended stay) , replace a worn or broken collar or similar, then the owner undertakes to reimburse such costs in full to Duncan's Dogs.
A name tag may be provided by Duncan's Dogs in addition to that which must already be worn by the dog(s).
Owners must provide details of an emergency contact.
On-going services are subject to a cancellation period of one week, other agreed services may be terminated and/or suspended by giving at least 48 hours notice, failure to do so will result in the full amount being payable and due. Services, may be varied by mutual consent and with similar notice.
